This course takes students through learning about how to mix recorded audio or mix bands in a live PA context for the 27703 Unit Standard.
Students learn how to operate live mixing consoles and mix in Digital Audio Workstations like Pro Tools, Logic or Studio One using EQ, Compression, Reverb, Delay.
This standard is worth four credits, contributes to course endorsement and is available for STAR funding for NZ State Schools. This course compliments students' study in performance, composition and music production providing necessary skills and knowledge for anyone wanting to work in the modern music industry in any genre.
The student pdf workbook is divided up into weekly lessons. Each lesson is accompanied by a tutorial video explaining a key concept and a series of revision quizzes.
Teachers are provided with assessment tasks and assessment schedules covering all the necessary aspects of the Unit Standard.

Please note, the 'SOND' Unit Standard resources from Learning Ideas for level 1 and 2 have been written to cater up to version 4 of 26687 and 27703. This version were due to expire at the end of 2022. However, due to our petitions to Toi Mai and NZQA the content of these standards will be kept as part of a new revision that will now be able to be taught until at least December 31, 2026. Once NZQA and Toi Mai release the new version of these Unit Standards we will provide free updates to all our customers so you can use them with your students.
